The education of most people begins when they are very young. Truth be known, since education is almost always synonymous with general growth, it is all but unavoidable that the educationall process is going to start at an extremely young age, whether or not one’s schooling also starts at any given point. After all, education and schooling are not the same thing by any stretch, as Mark Twain wisely observed a long time ago. In truth, a person’s education is justa matter of growing into being a responsible, knowledgeable person who can think for onesself.
Of course, in our society that definition is not always the one which takes the fore in discussions on the subject. For a lot of people, education refers only to the formal process of going to school, and does not really include growing as a person as a necessary component of a person’s success in the endeavor of learning. For far too many people in the academic world, becoming more educated just means crunching more numbers, digesting and regurgitating more facts for the betterment of no one. If one’s only goal is to satisfy their teachers, this is not the ultimate goal of education. it is something of a shame, though.
The idea that you are working to get a very small child to the point where they can think independently for themselves might seem like a lost cause at first, but it is a crucial thingto help them with if you can. After all, while the process of becoming educated takes a very long time and tends to feature a large number of false starts, the ultimate goal is that a person is able to run a successful life.
